Weaving and Baking

Greetings, dear readers! Happy month of May! Today’s post is the ultimate confirmation that I am indeed a productive procrastinator! I haven’t written in weeks… but that doesn’t mean that nothing has happened! My April weaving project was a blast! I experimented with colours, textures, shapes, pompoms, vintage materials, air plants, buttons, cotton rope, driftwood… I’m loving this art form! There are so many possibilities and I’m just scratching the surface! I feel like this love affair with weaving is here to stay! I recently delivered a selection of wall hangings to Victoire Boutique, a local shop that will arrange them in a window display. I’ll post some photos as soon as it’s set up!

I also received my very first custom order recently! This one’s going for my friend Janelle. Her request was for a funky geometric piece with grey, teal and a pop of orange/yellow. I’m so pleased with how it turned out – and so is she! There’s nothing more satisfying than making a customer happy! Bonus if it’s a friend!

I also geeked out quite a bit on Star Wars Day… A minimalist version of R2D2 was my first attempt at weaving a picture! May the Fourth be with you!

Well, that was a lot of weaving! But other things happened too, I promise! Work, life, little road trips… and this quick and easy, oh-so-delicious lemon blueberry bundt!

Speaking of baking, I haven’t gotten to procrasti-bake much lately… but I’ve got a little something planned for Mother’s Day tomorrow! Stay tuned! 😉

Thanks for visiting! Have a happy weekend!

Julie
