Greetings! Welcome to part one of a new weekly series: Favourite Things Friday! I don’t understand the difference between #ThrowbackThursday and #FlashbackFriday, so I’m going to start a #FavouritesFriday instead! Every Friday, I’m going to write about a few of my favourite things that I discovered or was inspired by during the week! Without further ado, here are this week’s winners!
1- App: Waterlogue: I can’t get enough of this app that allows you to convert any photo into a beautiful watercolour-style painting! The concept is simple and it works very well! I first discovered Waterlogue through this pin that suggests turning travel photos into one-of-a-kind watercolour wall art. Since downloading the app, I’ve become quite an avid “Waterloguer”… This is a collage of photos I took in Ottawa recently – “Waterlogued”!
2- Food Blog: A Spicy Perspective: So far, I’ve made the Brownie Waffles and the Honey Cinnamon Cornbread Muffins and I’m looking forward to trying more recipes from this blog. A Spicy Perspective, created by a lovely lady called Sommer, is well written, features superb food photography, and is just plain YUMMY! I mean, it’s easy to see why I like it so much… because thanks to Sommer, this magic happened:
3- DIY Project: Woven Art: Woven wall hangings have been all the rage in the decorating world for a while now! They add a great pop of colour, texture and whimsy to a wall! They can range from super classy to completely wacky – either way, I love them! I’ve always had a thing for fiber arts and textiles… I haven’t tried making one yet, but I’m dying to give it a go! There are so many amazing examples out there! (You need look no further than Pinterest!) It was hard to choose only a few for the collage below, but it gives you a taste of what I’m talking about!
Well, that’s what I’ve got for this Friday! I’m excited to see what will happen next week! What do you think of my picks? I’d love to hear from you!
